Hotel Review: Almanac X Alcron Prague (Prague, Czech Republic)
Located in the heart of Prague, the Almanac X Alcron Prague offers an unparalleled blend of modern luxury and timeless elegance. We spent 3 nights at Almanac X Alcron Prague in December of 2024 exploring the magical winter and Christmas scenes of Prague, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a visit to Prague.
Almanac X Alcron Prague is a chic 5 star hotel located centrally in Prague. It used to be Hotel Alcron which opened its doors in 1932, but recently has been renovated and reborn as Almanac X Alcron Prague in 2023.
Spaces throughout the hotel are decorated with local artists’ works, which is a detail I always appreciate and love seeing.
Location:
Almanac X Alcron Prague
Štěpánská 623 /40, 110 00 Nové Město, Czechia
Its central location serves as a great base for exploring the beautiful city of Prague. The Old Town Square which is filled with old world charm of Prague, is about 10-15 minutes away by foot. Charles Bridge is within walking distance, and other parts of the city are very accessible by a short tram ride or subway.
We were in Prague mainly for the Christmas markets. The main Christmas market in Prague is at the Old Town Square, and there is a smaller market at the Wenceslas Square, which was just 5 minutes by walking from the hotel.
Interior:
Local artist’s artworks add a personal touch throughout hotel spaces, and the marble staircase with golden handrails remain since the 1930s from the original founder of the hotel.
Rooms:
The rooms here are modern and contemporary with hardwood floors (you know I love these) and luxury linen. Bathrobes and slippers are provided (also love!). TV, Nespresso coffee machine, and modern bathrooms with rainfall showers.
Our room was the “Almanac X Room” and it was perfect for 2 people. We had a sofa by the window and a small table where we could sit and enjoy drinks after exploring during the day.
Facilities:
🏋️ 24 Hour Fitness Center
🧖♀️ Sauna and massages
🛍️ Concept store with local artisanal products
💎 Crystal Ballroom with glass roof for events
Food/Drinks:
🥘 Alcron Restaurant, adorned with historical crystal chandeliers, offers elevated Czech dishes that is plant-forward cuisine. However, there were meat and fish options available on the menu and were great. The beef tartar appetizer was one of the best I’ve ever had and I still dream about it!
🍸 Grab craft cocktails at the intimate Alcron Bar.
☕️ Elias Coffee Shop on the ground floor of the hotel offers freshly roasted coffee.
🍹 The hotel is planning on opening a rooftop in 2025, I can’t wait to be back to experience this.
Conclusion:
Overall we had a very pleasant stay at Almanac X Alcron Hotel in Prague. The hotel has a 9.1 rating on Booking.com at time or writing, and 4.6 on Google. I would recommend it to anyone heading to Prague without hesitation. That being said, here is the link to the hotel!
Staying at the Almanac X Alcron Prague made me curious about the other Almanac properties – there is one in Barcelona, Spain and Vienna, Austria. I would love to check out those properties in the near future!
