📍Opéra Garnier / Palais Garnier 🎭

Opening its doors in 1875, the Palais Garnier in the 9th arrondissement, also known as Opéra Garnier is NOT a palace, but an opera house. Don’t be fooled though, the opulent and extravagant interior makes you feel like you are in the richest of royal palaces!

You don’t have to watch a show to visit.

Tour the interior of the Opera Garnier for:
🎟️ Entrance 15€, audio guide 7€
🕰️ Open 10am - 5pm Daily

🎟️ Purchase tickets and reserve a time slot on their official website at www.operadeparis.fr

The 2 most famous areas in the Opera Garnier are the:

✨Grand Escalier(Staircase) - built of marble of various colors in a magnificent vault 30 meters tall. A beautiful painting on the ceiling by Isidore Pils.

✨Grand Foyer - this room used to be where members would hang out before performances, and it is completely adorned in gold. On the ceiling is a painting by Paul Baudry that features themes from history of music.

The Grand Foyer is often compared to the Hall of Mirrors at Palace of Versailles.

This truly was one of the most beautiful villages I’ve explored in France.

It’s literally carved into and in between two rock cliffs.

📍 Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Provence

About 2.5 hours driving from Nice, France.

It’s also super close to the Verdon Gorge, making it a great base to stay in if you want to explore the incredible river canyon.

I highly recommend spending a night here to experience its magical charm.

💛 I put SO MUCH time and effort to come up with the dreamiest trip to the South of France and it could not have been better. This itinerary combines the glam of French Riviera (Côte d’Azur) and the quiet charm of Provence.

🧡 There are more places to see in the South of France. I love exploring small villages and prioritized that this trip, so the Provence portion is filled with the dreamiest fairytale villages, and we’re saving the bigger towns like Aix-en-Provence for another trip.

Here’s what the trip included: 🏖 Days 1–4: French Riviera (Nice, Villefranche, Èze, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Menton, Antibes, Cannes) 🌿 Day 5: Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
🪻 Day 6-8: Provence (Gordes, Roussillon, Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Les Baux-de-Provence etc) 🚆 Day 10: Departure or optional Paris add-on (which we did!)
 📍 I used the train for most of the coast, and a rental car for Provence.

🏰 Explore the historic Real Alcázar de Sevilla (get tickets in advance).
🍤 Lunch at La Brunilda Tapas (book ahead because there will be a line even before they open).
🍊 Visit Catedral de Sevilla, Patio de los Naranjos, Giralda Tower (pre-book tickets).
🍹 Sip drinks with a view of Catedral de Sevilla at La Terraza de EME.
🥙 Tapas at Bar Alfalfa, a cozy and rustic place (it is really small).
🍄 Experience the magical Setas de Sevilla (a large wooden structure) at sunset.

🇪🇸 Day 2:

🏡 Visit the charming Casa de Pilatos, small Andalusian palace with a pretty garden.
🍖 Indulge in a fantastic lunch at El Traga.
🛶 Admire Plaza de Espana, the most beautiful square in Spain.
🌳 Stroll through Parque de Maria Luisa.
☕️ Treat yourself to Churros con chocolate at Bar El Comercio.
💃 Immerse in a Flamenco show at Museo del Baile Flamenco (book this one in advance as they sell out).
🚪 Wander through the enchanting Santa Cruz neighborhood.
🥘 Dine outdoors at a terrace and enjoy the lively evenings of Seville - I liked Restaurante Doña Rufina.

Bonus:  
🚊 For a third day, take a day trip to Cordoba, just 45 minutes away by train.
